OBJECTS

  • To bring all weavers into contact with one another with a view to establish relations of friendship and goodwill towards one another so that they can have exchange of thoughts and views.

  • To act as a Non-political, Voluntary and Non-profit motive organisation with a sole aim to protect and Safe-guard the legal rights, interests and privileges of the weaving community which has the origin in and around Madras and protecting the ancient traditional concept of weaving weavers.

  • To preserve the socio-economic conditions of the handloom weavers and to work for the harmonious growth of the handloom sectors

  • To help in the flourishing handloom weaving industry preserving Indian handloom culture and providing a decent standard of living to weavers’ family.

  • To protect the interests of the members of the Association.

  • To provide continuous employment and fair wages to the weavers throughout the year.
  • To provide raw materials in subsidy rates and other infrastructure to weavers.
  • To control and monitor the quality of handloom fabrics.
  • To market the handloom cloth produced by handloom weavers.
  • To pass on this handloom weaving culture \to the next future generation.
  • To provide various welfare schemes for the handloom weavers.
  • To educate the public about the importance of handloom weaving.
  • To conduct various exhibition and seminars in order to promote the handloom products, to create awareness and to provide quality handloom products to the people.
  • To contribute to develop and protect the future generation of weaving Community and give legal protection to them.
  • To indulge in foreign exports of the quality handloom fabrics of our society.
  • To build a strong sprit and self-reliance among the handloom weavers in the society.
  • To educate the younger generation about this handloom weaving culture.
  • Our society aims to undertakes the research on the traditional handloom weaving methods.
  • To redress any disputes or differences or grievances among the members of the association and to initiate the steps to resolve the disputes or differences or grievances.
  • To represent meetings on behalf of the members before State Government or Central Government or other Statutory Bodies or other similar organizations.
  • To attend meeting of redressal / grievance meeting conducted by the Central Government or the State Government or other Statutory Bodies or other similar organizations.
  • To provide necessary information /consultation to the members for promotion and development
  • To take an active part in assisting or opposing by all lawful and proper means such public or private movements as may be likely to affect the interest of members or potential members in the carrying on of their business.
  • To prepare and disseminate information related to handloom weaving industry in a lawful manner.
  • To do all such other things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of the objects and purposes of the Association.
